Hi, I’m Efrain. I build robots and software.
Ideas you can see in action. Robotics, interfaces, and things I’m figuring out. Pick something that catches your eye.

From a first prototype to something useful. Sydney, Australia ↘
Machines withpurpose. From a robot’s first steps to a clearer interface, I like making things people can actually use.

I’m building a small accessory that attaches to existing bins. It helps turn what goes into recycling into useful data, without replacing the bin itself.
Detect materials Organize the data Make it useful See what I worked on ↗ Explore ↗ 02 Robotics / Motion / Making
I designed and built a four-legged robot, then wrote the control logic to coordinate its twelve joints. This is where the maths has to work in the real world.
Position the feet Calculate joint angles Drive the servos See what I worked on ↗ Explore ↗ 03 Education / Code / Control
At EMU, I help students build robots and understand the code behind them. I also work on the control systems that help those robots move accurately on their own.

Give it a try. Step through a simple decision loop. You’re in charge of what happens next.

One decision. Four states. 01 / Observe Read the environment. The agent waits for a useful signal.

Behind the work
I like figuring outhow things work. I’m Efrain, a mechatronics engineer based in Sydney. I founded WISE Systems and lead robotics education at EMU Robotics.
Some days that means designing a part or tuning a controller. Others, it’s writing an interface or helping someone get their first robot moving.
